Help! Fuel Pressure Reg. squirting fuel everywhere...
On the way home tonight I noticed my gas guage going down more than normal and smelled gas when I got home. So I popped the hood with the car running and my Mallory 3-way FPR was squirting fuel out of the vacuum port and dumping a ton of it into my carb, flooding my engine and killing it when I tried to cover the vacuum port. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
Thanks,
Matt

Vacuum port? It's vacuum referenced? WOW!! You spent some money, eh?
Are you sure the vacuum port is the vacuum port? And the return port is the return port? etc. etc.?

Yes, it's a vacuum port. The Mallory 3-way return style has one. It turns out there is a crack in the rubber diaphram that was allowing fuel (and lots of it) to come into the "dry" part of the regulator where vacuum is supposed to be. Now the search to find a new one. I hope I never have to pop my hood and see precious high octane fuel squirting everywhere.
