Well, after hearing a few things from other third gen owners about the engine idle, it kinda hit me how low mine was. I have a 305 TBI with a few mods and my idle is about 600rpms. Engine runs fine and it's not kicking or shaking at idle. I just wanted to know if this is bad or if it's really nothing to worry about. Most people I talk to say they're idles are around 1000rpms. Can anyone lemme know here? Thanks.

 

600 in drive? That's what mine idles at.

Mine's a little shaky, but it's been 3 yrs since I did a tune-up. I'd be a little shaky to.

 

Mine idles in neutral (manual trans) at 750 rpm just fine. I've had it down to 500 smoothly before, and it once even idled around 400, but very roughly.

Anyway, my 350 is happy at 500-750 rpms
