car stops pulling at 4500 rpms
i am having a problem with my car, it will pull hard up to 4500 in first then shift into second and in second it pulls up to 4500 strong then the rpms like fall off, i know it shifts early, could this cause this? everything is new on the motor, new mallory dist. with coil, new msd wires, delco plugs, the motor is rebuilt with 10:1 pistons, comp 268xe cam, 1.6 rockers, air gap intake, hedman headers, and a holley 600 carb and world s/r torquer heads with a 3000 stall and th-350. i need suggestions, im thinking it might be a fuel or air problem???

Sounds like classic fuel starvation, where the fuel system can't keep the carb full.
Look at your fuel line for restrictions, especially crusties built up in the gas tank.

the fuel lines look good, it starts shaking and popping through the exhaust at abut 3000 rpms in park and if i keep in it, it gets worse. but if i just floor it without taking it up slow, it goes up to 6000 rpms i dont feel a miss.

when i lowered my fuel bowl level very low, just to see, it did that.
it did reved and all, but it had no power, it felt like the clutch was slipping, but it was not... it was doing it before 4000 rpm because it was extremely low.

i unplugged the vacuum line to my vacuum advance and it doesnt miss anymore, how do i adjust the can, i thought i adjusted right, i guess not. i have a mallory distributor with the adjustable vacuum canister.
