Back firing problem

Ok. here is my situation I have a 84 Z28 H.O and some reason it has started backfiring on when the other 2 barrels on my carb open up.. it is sometimes fire and sometimes not. I really have not done anything to it sence it was running fine. What could my problem be?? Thanks, Matt
