why is my engine skipping!!!!!!????????
I have 85 Z28 with a 383 stroker crate engine in it and the just eats spark plugs. I know it is time to change the plugs when the car starts skipping. However this time, I changed the plugs and it is still doing it. It sounds like crap when your going down the road nor do I have as much power as I should. Any help?

What plugs are you using? Have you checked the wires?
The plugs could be too cold, the wires could be bad and the spark plugs are only doing what they can for however long they last.

Yes, I checked the wires too and they were all fine and connected (and no, they aren't connected to the wrong plugs). The plugs themselves are autolite AR134's, although I was using Accel 576S. I also don't know what causes the motor to eat plugs so fast. Do you have any thoughts on that?

If its carbed, maybe its running excessivly rich or lean? That could explain both the ingestion of spark plugs and lack of power.
