Not Starting!!!! Wtf

Well, it happened again today. This would make the 4th time in about 6 months and this time it left me stranded at the gas station for over 30 min in 105* temps.
Ok, here's the prob: the car has power and acts normal when I turn the key back to acc. position or up to the first position so the windows can be rolled up or down. But when I try to start it not a damn thing happens. The starter doesnt click like its trying to turn over or anything, just dead silence. But if I let it sit for a while, like today I had to wait for about half an hour until it decided to start. When it starts it starts fine, like nothing was ever wrong. The battery and starter are less than a year old and work fine except in these few cases. Has anybody had this happen to them?? Anybody know whats wrong?? Anybody know how to fix it?? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Might be getting too hot near the solenoid. You got headers? And does this happen after driving a ways in hot weather?

Sounds like you could use a heat shield for your starter.
