Need help before i go to track.
Need help before i go to track.
Hey guys, i have another question for yall. I am going to the track tomorrow, and i was wanting to make a few runs and do some tweaking or whatever you want to call it. One thing i want to do is run some "colder" spark plugs. I havent ever figured out or havent really have been told what the difference but the guy at the speed shop said it will help my times. But when i do this do i keep the stock gap with them being colder or what do i do?

I'd say keep the gap you have unless of a Hi-Po ignition. Adjust the tire pressure more in front and low in the back. Run with a full tank of gas for consistant runs. Get rid of the spare if you have one. Brake torque it a little at the line, but not too much so when you take off you dont spin the wheels. play around with the timing and run some higher octane gas. Unless you have slicks ,dont do a burnout. That can accually hurt your time.
all i have for the ign. is a mallory promaster coil, accel cap rotor wires and plugs, But i bought so acdelcos to play with they have 43 on them some they are a colder plugs. But my gap no its like .050. Runs good like that. So i might keep that same gap on the colder plugs. Thanks man. I have heard about the not doing a burn out on streets, but you have to do a lil one to get the water off dont you?

yea if theres a little water i'll just hit it for a sec ,but where i race there is no water clean them off. .50 should be good with the coil. Good luck
