IROC-Z won't start

I managed to tear up my stock tranny mount to shreds so I went out and bought a polyurethane mount. Installed great except that the transmission sits up a little higher (a little less than 1cm) than it usually does.

So, I go to start the car and the engine turns but wont start. It sounds like the fuel pump is working cause is makes a hum when I turn the ignition.

Is it possible that because the tranny sits a little higher that I may have pinched a wire that controls the start up process?

wow. you help the car out and this is how it repays you. that's a bitch. well as ede mentioned they are doubtfully related. since it's an 89', it maybe a vats problem starting show it ugly head.

The VATS is working fine since the engine does turn. I am also getting a code 12 from the ECM, so that's normal too.

How would I go about checking to see if the distributor is dead?

pull a plug wire and have someone crank it over and watch for spark.

Distributor is fine. I sprayed some ether in the throttle body and it started up for a second then died. I'm guessing that no fuel is getting to the engine?

I hear the fuel pump come on, so what could be causing it to not get to the engine?

I do have a full tank of gas

Could be no tach signal to the ECM, without it the ECM won't fire the injectors.

I unplugged and reseated all of the injectors and the car started!

However, I took her for a spin and as soon as the car shifted into second gear it shut off.

So, I'm going to check for voltage on the injectors. If they are not firing, where can I locate the ECM tach wire?

ooo did you get the lovely experience of having to push a 4000+ pound vehicle home? Thats one of the least fun things about having to problems solve is when you think you figured it out and fixed it so ya go for a drive and it turns out you need some work on your problem solving skills.

As suspected, no voltage on any of the injectors (assuming they all run on 12v).

So the ECM tach wire runs from the ignition module to where? My buddy told me that its a white wire, but I want to double check.

Should run to the ECM, it may be labeled "ref pulse" in the schematics.
Did you check the fuses for the injectors? There should be 2 fuses. Would be stretch that both blew, but it beats chasing wires for no reason.
