Changing your tires at home?

is it possible to put new tires on your wheels in your garage without any special tire changing machines?

I am rebuilding my engine, and i got my tires like 2 months ago and they are just sitting outside in the rain, i really want to put them on so i can see how they look. Is this possible?

possible, well anything is possible but i suggest having someone do it for you. I work at an autoshop for a while and getting a tire on a rim and/or off is really easy with a maching but doing it yourself is alot more work then what a tire shop would charge to put it on

yes, you can do it without a tire machine,
you need help, and some pry bar, 4 is good.
get someone to stand on the rim, so its not moving, use the pry bar on the bed of tire, pry it out, hold good, use an other pry bar and do it not too far away...

using soap on the tire bead help and is NEEDED for reinstallation...

much much easier with high tire, like 70 serie.

when installing, the first bead is so easy, just a good push on it , but pry always helps

anyway, look at your rim(mags) you see an edge need the middle of it , you have to lower the tire bead there because its the "narowest" part of the rim.

not that hard, but i wouldnt do it with nice looking mags.
shops do it for cheap anyway, and btw you need to BALANCE the tires!!! i dont have any tricks to do it at home .

Very easy to do...gives quite a workout too. I just find it hard to pay someone to do something that I can do my self. Then I just take them to work and balance them.
