back again!!! (I have a new third gen :) )

Hey I have third gen number two! My first was a 86' with the lg5, no *****, sold it and joined the Corps. Now I have a 87' Iroc that came with the 305 tpi.
Question is the guy I bought it from said the owner before him but in a 350, the block was from an 89 vette. Anyways it doesn't really feel like a 350, I think I check the numbers on the drivers side of the block but I am not sure. Can anybody help me out and let me know how to go about finding the ponies that drive me. Thanks
James

the block casting number is on the rear of the block where it bolts to the tranny bellhousing right in back of the drivers side head, also on the small ledge in front of the passanger side head you will find the first few digits of the vin of the origional car it came from as well as a suffix code which will help you to determine what you have.. normally if someone says it came from a vette its bs. normally the first sign that they have no clue what they're talking about or that they're lying... look up the codes you find on www.mortec.com and find out exactly what you have.. might also wanna pull a valve cover and look up the head casting numbers as well.
