what would cause fuel pressure NOT to drop when vaccuum hose is off?

I have a week old Crane AFPR in my car and its been working great. Well last night it dropped 12#s all by itself. When I disconnect the hose now, it stays the same. What would cause this?

Most than likely a bad regulator (bad diaphragm).

As much as I wish you were wrong, I think you're right. Godamn crane piece of s**T.

Now I have to remove everything to take this f***er off.
