Quick Solenoid Removal Question...
I need to install a heat shield on my starter (L98 engine), which requires that I remove the solenoid screws. I'm not old enough that I've replaced that many starters yet, but if I'm thinking about this correctly, isn't one of the two solenoid screws really hard to get to? I seem to remember that one is very accessible, and the other can't even be seen.
If so, will I need to drop the starter altogether just to get to that other screw, or can the screw be removed (AND replaced) with the starter in place using an extension?
Just curious--I'm trying to gague how big of a "project" this will be and if I'll have enough time to tackle it tonight.
Thanks!
