idle promblems...misses throughout RPM range.??
I TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE IT WORKED ON AND THEY HAD IT RUNNING FOR A DAY. THEY SAID THE
DISTRIBUTOR CAP WAS NOT MOUNTED CORRECTLY AND I HAVE AN IGNITION PROBLEM.
SO I CHECKED THE PLUGS WHICH ARE ONLY 2 MONTHSOLD AND ONE WAS LOOSE AND BURNED OUT. I BOUGHT NEW WIRES AND REPLACED THE DAMAGED PLUG. I RUNS DECENT BUT STILL MISSES AND I HAVE LOSS OF POWER. IF I SLAM IT THE CAR MAKES A RATTLE/CLICKING SOUND AND SLOWLY ACCELERATES. I KNOW A PARTICAL PROBLEM IS MY CARB, BUT THE ENGINE NEVER MADE THIS SOUND BEFORE. I AM NOT SURE BUT COULD THE EMISSIONS CONTROL HAVE ANYTHGING TO DO WITH THE PROBLEM. THE SMOG EQUIPTMENT IS BROKEN ON THE CAR AND I AM CURRENTLY STARTING TO REPLACE THE COMPONETS. ONE MORE ITEM TO ADD IS THAT WHILE DRIVING THE CHOKE LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME AND CHECK ENGINE COMES ON ALOT TOO.

What are the engine codes? Have you looked them up yet? Broken emission equipment?? Have you checked for vacumn leaks and EGR leaks? Put a vacumn cap on the EGR valve and on any hoses running to the EGR and see if this corrects the idle. How about timing? Dissconnected the EST and checked it?
