also look how much of the difference in length the stock vs the new one................this otta be fun trying to make the new one fit.

The one on the left in the pic is better.

The reason it's shorter is because of the diff. companies, and the sprockets are diff size.

That's why you buy them as a set. Cam sprocket, crank sprocket, and chain. Don't mix and match companies.

The chain on top will just use smaller sprockets. The actual size of the sprockets doesn't matter, as long as the ratio of 2:1 is kept. Another problem of mixing companies parts.

ey? is the one on the left a true roller chain?

looks like it to me.. if the little cylinder things in between the links move independently of the side bar things, then it is a true roller...

Can't tell looking at it whether it's a "true roller" or a "bushing roller".

If you paid $40 or more for it, it's probably a true roller. If you paid less than $30, it's probably junk.

If it's a "bushing roller" aka "truck chain", the stock type is better.

well what I got was the summit chain.....part# SUM-G6601

says it a true roller, I asked and they told me it was..so i assume it is...
