Depends on the exact combination you are using. I'm using regular Crane 1.6 roller rockers with 7/16" studs with hardened guideplates and hardened pushrods....all non-selfaligning. ~20k miles so far...no problems. HTH

I've got Crane Gold Race 1.6 roller rockers on my aluminum L98 heads. They're the self-aligning variety.

Yeah, if they are not self-aligning you'll have to convert to guideplates.

Yes you can use 1.6 rockers, but what are the specs of your cam, and your springs? You dont want to have the springs coil bind because the cam is too large. Most stock GM springs that come in our cars will work up to .480 lift safely, maybe .490. I believe the springs that come on the L98 aluminum heads are good for .510, since they use them with the ZZ3 cam.
