I don't know what is wrong with my car. For some reason it has lost alot of power. Mostly in the higer RPM's 3500 and above. Say I am going 45 miles an hour, if i put the pedal to the floor, my car downs shifts and the car slows down. It kind of feels like i have the brake on while trying to accelerate but it only does this on higher rpm's. Although i have noticed a major power drop all around. I took apart my intake to see if maybe it was clogged and it all seemed good. Has this ever happened to any of you and or do you know what my prpblem could be. I have no idea what is wrong.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIEATED.

its most likely a fuel or spark problem (that narrows it down huh) i would change the fuel filter, make sure you have good fuel pressure...have you done regular tune up stuff lately? a less likely thing could be clogged cat(s) but you would notice ****ty performance all the way around

Fuel or air filter, and spark plugs come to mind first. Is your SES light coming on when this happens? Does it cough/spit/miss as it slows down? Does it idle okay? Any exhaust smoke when this happens? Has your gas mileage dropped?

 

No, I my car runs great it idles at around 600-700 rpms smoothly, It drives nice but when you floor it man it actually goes slower. I can't say i have gotten worse milage but it isn't that good. About 135 miles to a tank. I was wondering if you guys think i should change my O2 sensor. I am not sure if it is pulling any codes. My light is broken. WHere is the light in the digital dashes. I am geuss ing by the hand brake light. I will replace it tomorrow. If it is possible???

ps I hope I don't have to buy a whole new digital dash because by service engine soon light is broken
