Stumped
ok, just finishing up my motor swap, installed my starter
made sure the wiring is correct........it is
made sure the large terminal always had power including when key is turned........yup
made sure purple wire on small terminal is getting power when key is turned..........yup
made sure the starter had a good ground against the block..........yup
so i replaced the starter solenoid with a new one
nothing
jumped the terminals with a screwdriver, nothing
tried it again, solenoid worked
then the solenoid worked with the key
then the solenoid stopped working
jumped it again
worked again when jumped
worked again when key turned
then it stopped working again after a few turns
all my connections are tight and clean
this is driving me crazy, any help would be great thanx

and i checked to make sure the starter had a ground

i dont understand why the solenoid isnt working though
i mean, it did work (and then stopped and worked again), and its brand new
