The guy is wrong, it has an LT1 in it, unless he swapped out the LT1 for a carb. I think the L88 was a Corvette engine from the 70's.

If it has an L88 BUY IT!!! That is one screaming motor. They came in the 67 and 69 vettes and were rated conservativly at 460hp i believe but they had more like 560...They are BEASTS.

I doubt there really is an L88 in it. He better have a lot of proof to back up his claims before you consider buying it.

L88-ZL1 there's no such thing. The L88 was put in 68-69 vettes and i think 67's. It's a 427 with alluminum heads. The ZL1 is an all alluminum (including block) 427 that came in 2 69 vettes and 69 1969 camaros.
And anyway i doubt someone would put a big block in a 4th gen because it would be a pain in the a**, wouldn't pass emissions, and you can get so much power out of an LT1 or an LS1.

[/QUOTE]DIEmustangsDIE I checked back February 1998 of CHP and you are right. The ZL-1 is not a L-88. The ZL-1 was only producted in 1969. Thanks for keeping me stright.
