Need new radiator
Need new radiator
Its time for a new radiator and was looking for some suggestions. I dont really have the money for a BeCool or Griffin, I would like to keep it under $200, but would still like a good radiator. Any help would be great
Thanks,
Mo

I picked up a new Modine for $145 at a local radiator shop last year.
Check www.partsamerica.com. They have a better deal ($119.99 minus 25% special they're running now). If you can pick it up at a local Kragen/Shucks/Checker, no shipping and no tax (small "handling" fee).

I looked at partsAmerica.com, and at the modine, it is a 1 row aluminum radiator, will that cool my car enough?

Yes it will cool enough I just put one in and now I'm running to cool. Not getting nto closed loop at all. I run just a hair over 100 degrees.

I still have a "new" (never used) 2-row radiator with metal tanks... I say "new" cuz I bought it to put in my car, bugared up a fitting, didn't have time to mess with it so I put another one in. Later on when I had more time, I got it repaired, so now it's all good. I do not recall what brand it is, I got it from a radiator shop for about $155. If you're interested, e-mail me. I'll send to ya $50+shipping.

I'm not putting out as much power as you are, so I waited for someone else to comment. But, if the stock radiator was doing the job before whatever problem you started having that prompted you to consider a new radiator, then the single-core replacement should do fine as well.
If you've got upgrade plans in the future that would increase power and thus the need for additional cooling capacity, then you should consider the upgraded radiator now.

they are both under $150 so price isn't too much of a factor here, so the copper brass 3 row would cool better than the aluminum?
thanks

When I replaced my factory aluminum one with the copper/brass three row. My temps went up about 10- 15* this was just a factory replacement I bought from a local chain.
