brakes not holding well

Ok, ever since I got my new motor. ( I swapped to a 305 TBI to a 350 carb.) The brakes have not been holding very well. I got a nice size cam in it, .510 lift. Does it have anything to do with vacuum lines. I know they are all hooked up for sure but since it "cams" hard now does the vacuum come and go and the brakes will not hold good now. Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys.

That bigger cam is probably causing your engine not to produce as much vacuum as it used to. The more radical cam you have, the less vacuum you will have from that engine, and the brake booster is powered using engine vacuum. I would say get yourself a vacuum booster or reserve tank, that should perk your brakes right back up. If you don't want to go that route, you could put a more mild cam back in that engine and your brakes will have their former power. I doubt you want to go the latter route though. You can get reserve tanks through summit racing. Hope that helps.
