oil leak

I just put my edelbrock performer camshaft in and I have only driven the car for almost a month now and I notice i am losing oil a lot faster than I should be, the engine is only a year old goodwrench crate motor,

when I open my hood after getting off the freeway I notice that there is oil in a lot of places, it has gotten up to the underside of my hood and there is a layer on my brake fluid reservoir, I havent had any experience finding oil leaks and this one seems pretty mean.

I also noticed last time i was in the driveway that there is a puddle that forms under the car back towards the back of the engine, sometimes I can see a drop falling,

if anyone has had a similar problem I would be grateful for past experience on how they fixed it.

If it wasnt leaking like this before the cam swap I would go over all the areas you toched, particularly any gaskets you changed. If you overtorqued the bolts or tightened in the wrong sequence a gasket may not have seated properly.

id start by cleaning up the engine bay...

take it to the car wash, cover your carb and distributor and anything that would be harmed by water with a plastic bag. and spray it down really good to get most of the oil and grease of the engine and then use an old towel or grease rag and get off whatever else you can... ... then drive it home, pop the hood and check around the intake, front cover and valve covers for oil... if you dont see any, jack up the car stick some jack stands under it, and check around the oil pan... if you dont see anything, start the car up and let it idle till it warms up and see if theres anything leaking...

valve cover

do you think its possible for a loose valve cover to allow that much leakage? I found that my driver side valve cover was pretty loose, and that will account for some im sure, but would it get all over like that? It does seem to be all on the same side
