fuel/gas gauge?????

I've noticed since I bought the car that my gas gauge is a POS!

It will read 3/4 when the tank is completely full?

Anyone else's do that?

I put $5 in today (approx 3 gall or so) and it still read empty.

This is aNNOYING. Is there a fix to it?

Mine does a similar thing... reads 1/4 tank past full when I fill it, when there is about an 1/8th tank left, it drops to E.

Mine reads full until about 1/2 tank then suddenly drops to a half empty reading. At about 1/4 tank left the gauge drops to empty. Mine is an 88 GTA and I have just gotten used to it. I figure I will replace the sender when I do the fuel pump next year. (of course I have said that for the past few years)
