feeler gage between the valve tip and the rocker. your manual will tell you what valves you can run without having to turn the engine for each pair of valves.

Yes, I know about the feeler gage, but do I tighten it till I just feel tension on the pushrod?

the feeler gage should slide out with a little resistance, but you shouldn't have to force it, and it should slide back in between the valve tip and the rocker.

Don't forget, the engine should be HOT to adjust solids. As the guys advise, a slight drag on the feeler as you pull it out of the gap should be all that's necessary.
