New TCC solenoid ?
New TCC solenoid ?
I had a manual Torque Converter lockup switch, and it stopped working.
I posted about why, probably a few weeks ago and someone mentioned the TCC solenoid.
So my question is how hard is it to replace the TCC solenoid, and where is it exactly, oh and about how much to they cost.
my tranny is a 700r4

You can check for continuity across the connector pins. Good luck getting to them, it's tight up there in that tunnel. I tried, found it was easier to drop the pan (you need to change the fluid anyway, right?).
You could short the sockets in the ALDL (look in the tech article about manual lock-up switch to see which ones to short), listen for the click.
You also need to make sure it's getting power (turned out that was my problem). And, there's a pressure switch in series with the solenoid (4-3 switch) that's normally closed, if it has failed, no lockup.
The easiest way to check all these things (except the ALDL trick) is to drop the pan.

Check it with the ignition in the "on" position but without the engine running.
