Sputter dead

Hi all, Im having some problems with the 87TA.Maybe someone can help.It will
fire up and run at idle for about 10-15 seconds, then all of the sudden rpm
will drop and the car will just sputter out.If i try to keep it up by
gassing it it stays alive but runs extremely rough. If i let the gas off,
sputter down then dead.I replaced the coil (HEI) and replaced 3 of the 8
plugs.I am gonna do the rest of the plugs tommorrow. Thus far i have a fairly
new battery, new fuel pump, fuel filter, fairly new rebuilt carb, 6month old battery, new
alternator, new plug wires.Any relies is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ~~Jaime~~

Try unplugging your MAF and start the car. If it runs for lots longer - or not, come let us know.

sounds similar to whats happening to my car right now. take the air cleaner off. have a friend start the car, and then hold your hands over the top of the carb, blocking off the air flow. if the car runs better/normal, you have a vac leak somewhere. if all the hoses check out ok, spray some carb cleaner or ether or something similar on the carb itself and around the base of it. if you spray an area and notice that it runs better, this is where your leak is. btw it turned out that the base gasket was leaking on my carb, replaced it and still had crappy idle. sprayed around the carb and learned that ive got quite a few vac leaks in the carb itself so its time for a rebuild.
