urgent help needed. please

This is probally on the wrong board, but i need to reach the most amount of people, quick. I am swapping a 350, i n my 85 trans am. I am using the old carb, (Q-Jet) on my new motor that comes with a edelbrock torkerII on it. The problem is that the footprint on the car, and the intake, dont match each other. I have limited funds, right now, so a new carb is out of the question. Is there some sort of adapter or somthing? My last resort, will be to use the intake that the old 305 has on it, but I be getting robbed of power. ANY help is GREAT. I have a deadline of getting the motor in the car by Sunday, thanks to anyone who answers.

The Q-jet is a spreadbore carb (large secondaries). Everything else is squarebore (all 4 butterflies the same size). Chances are your manifold is only for a squarebore carb.

Either buy a spreadbore manifold or buy the carb adaptor. Yes they are available.

T&A,

I believe Weiand, Holley, and Mr. Gasket have adapters for square-bore to spread-bore applications.
