help! custom pistons and rods or 434 stroker?
I cant make up my friggin mind now. I have an HT383 I'm thinking of supercharging(sn-89 paxton), but to do so I'd need custom pistons and rods, about $1000ish. I have a .040 over 400 block at home I was holding onto to build a 434 stroker, whereas kits I've found are in the $1450ish range, plus retrofit lifters. Too radical? Since I'm still MAF TPI (LT1 intake), what the hell should I do? Too many choices. I'd end up using the parts I have now. Any suggestions? If I did the 400, it would be a roller motor, with an aggressive blower cam, something similar to the cc306 cam, using my pro topline 200cc aluminum heads. Any ideas? I'm looking for about 700 streetable HP if I go supercharged, 525 without.

I say put the 3.80" stroke 383HT crank in the 400, and make a nice street motor out of her. IE lots of torque = lots o-fun.

Cant do that. All factory 400 blocks are 2 pc. RMS's, while this one is a 1 piece. Sucks. So if I were to do the 400 I'd have to spend the money on a crank kit and retrofit roller lifters. Sux. I could go nuts and put in a 327 crank or even a 302 crank, but if I were going to do that, I'd carb it and install 18* heads and a really really big cam with a TH400. Not looking to drag race too much.
