AS i was pulling out of a parking lot...my car stalls. So i get get it started again and guess what, it stalls again. So i glide by in a parking space and once again i get it started but this time i am in park....so i rev the engine slowing and it dies. What could be the problem.. battery,alternator, or somthing defferent. If you have any suggestings please reply thanks!!!

 

sounds exactly like what happened to me. my distributor lossened. the bolt backed out letting it move. just check your timing and tighten the bolt and it could be fine..if thats the problem.


p.s. i probably started my car 20 times to get home the last mile.

 

is this a sudden failure? or has it been getting worse over time?

 

sounds like the ignition module to me...inside the cap....might be on its way out.....any back-firing or popping when this happens?

 

problem fixed!!! soon after writing this post i decided to check if i had a spark. None. So i replaced the module an instant start-up. I don't know why i didn't think of this sooner.... It was pretty funny because my dad had the same problem with his 1987 astro van.
