car dies after idiling for 20 minutes ..

and wont restart for 5 - 10 minutes.. im getting no codes.. what is it? i have no idea.. fuel pressure is fine. what would make it die, then have to wait a few minutes to restart. im thinking its the ignition module.?? ITS AN 88 350TPI. HELP

Check the pick up coil inside the distributor. I fixed a friends Camaro that was having the same problem. What was happening is the pick up coil would get hot and quit working (either shorting out or opening a winding) and once it would cool down, it would work for about 20 minutes. Then it would start all over again. We took the ignition module to the local parts store and had it checked. It was fine. Just something to look at. L8R
