dies at low idle

i have to get this fixed before monday, the problem is that the engine runs fine at higher rpm like 2k, but around 1k it dies off and is hard to keep it to stay running.

its like the engine runs lean at low idle, also it burns oil, i just replaced the plugs and ignition system so i know its not that.

it just seems like it leans out at low idle, or the carb is just running lean, so can someone tell em how to make it run a tad richer, i dont have meetering rods and such and this is a non-computer controlled CC-quadrajet carb.

thanks in advance.

Squeeks,

If you are running lean at idle, open up the idle mixture screws.
