codes 12 33 34

i have a 1990 3.1 rs and for quite sometime now its been running like poop. it stalls after ive driven it for a while. it surges and will then eventually just die. today i just pulled my codes using my trusty paper clip and i got codes 12 33 & 34. could this be why my 3.1 is always stalling. (im pretty sure i have a MAP sensor not MAF)

Re: codes 12 33 34

Yes you do have a MAP sensor. I don't have my book with me right at the moment so I can't tell you about your codes tonight, except that your ECM will always display code 12 when you check them. Code 12 is "no reference pulses to the ECM" meaning that your engine is not running. Don't worry about that one right now. Your code 33 and 34 are both referencing a problem with your MAP sensor, that's all I can tell you at the moment. However, from the symptoms you described, I would strongly suggest removing the IAC, cleaning the port, cleaning the valve, reinserting it, and resetting the minimum idle air. If that does not correct your problem you may have a bad IAC. Hope that helps you some.

Edit: Here's the link to set your IAC minimum air:

new code to add

its not my IAC. i had it replaced after i first suspected it and then the problem didnt go away so the shop threw another one in for free. i did reset my idle.

on my way home from school my check engine light came on. when i got home i pulled the codes again and got 32 33 and 34.
