starter questions

i noticed the newer chevy trucks have gear reduction starters. i want to put one on my T/A. Its an 89 GTA/350/auto. If they will work, what years would i have to look for??

GMPP offers a reduction gear starter that is designed to work with both size flywheels. It has two sets of mounting holes.

Since you probably have the standard SBC, you could go the the parts couter and try to match up the starter from a recent ('94+) LT1 or Vortec truck engine to your bolt pattern. Have them put both starters on the counter and start measuring. It might be a little cheaper to go with the Vortec truck starter than the GMPP unit.
