Ignition Problem
There is something wrong with my ignition. It will not turn over. It goes into the auxilary position but it will not go into start. It also will allow you to go through all the gears with the keys out. It started like this: First the battery went dead, i thought this because you turn the key and nothing would happen. Then when I got a battery charger and tried it again the ignition would not even go into the start position but you can shift through all the gears. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like there's a short in the ignition somewhere...
the transmission switch is at the ignition switch (allows it go into gear etc...)
or busted... or a fuse

Yeah, I made sure it was in park but it still will not turn. I also tried it in nuetral but it still would not turn. I just went out there to mess with it. I can turn the headlights on and one of my blinkers is messed up. My right blinker light is on steady when its not even engaged. When I push the stick up the light goes off. What is the clutch/park safety switch? Is the lock cylinder hard to replace?

Do you have vats? ( I don't think that matters anway)
if not it won't be the key cyllinder, all it does is move an actuator that moves the ignition switch through a connecting rod...
The ignition switch is further down the steering column, nice place, hard to reach... take the molding off..
there's 2 bolts holding the steering column up, let it drop, you can see the end of the actuator rod, it's at like 10 oclock on the column near the base... (don't get confused with the dimmer switch)
My guess is that's where yer problem is...
