engine stumbles, backfires 2x, runs great???
help me out here guys...i've been noticing that when i start my car (stock LB9) blue smoke will come out the exhaust. i'm on the way to work this morning and like the past few days the eng is running a little rough and when i step on the gas it hesitates before taking off but not all the time. today it backfires twice and then runs almost perfect...what's up with that??? maybe bad case of the hicups? could there be some type of sensor problem? i plan on looking into it saturday but i need to know where to start and in what order i should troubleshoot. any help greatly appreciated.
Sounds just like my 86.. It had leaking valve seals (blue smoke on startup) and when it was COLD it ran like s**t. Does it still run bad when its warm? I bet you just need to wait for the engine to reach operating temp. and it might run better. More input please...
well, it ran great yesterday on the way home from work and was at operating temp which doesn't take long here in FL. today it's running with a rough idle and stumbling again...no backfire though, yesterday was the only time it's ever backfired...
