9 bolt Question

Well i was just wondering how u guys would go about upgrading ur 9 bolts. i ahve an 89 iroc with 4 wheel disc posi with 2.77 gears. Im looking to get a 3.45 or 3.73 gear set. I was just wondering how much this would cost. And if i would need a new carrier for this? If so i have 600 dollars would this be sufficent in getting the gears. Sorry if i mised this thread i searched with little results. If someone could break it down (simply please ) i would appreciate it thanks

Check out www.9bolt.com. He has what you need. I'm sure you are going to have to get a 3 series carrier for the gears you want. Checkout the Transmissions and Drivetrain forum on this sight. Type in 3.45 in the search. You will find your answers!

Miles and 9bolt.com claims to have a spacer in the works for fitting 3 series gears on a 2 series carrier. I don't see the need to buy a new carrier unless you have to. I ended up have a machine shop make my spacer which only cost about $100.00 or so, alot cheaper than a 3 series posi unit for these damn expensive 9 bolts.
