HELP! Car won't turn over... can I disconnect the MSD box?
I just put in a Carter Street pump and a new battery and now the car won't turn over. I drove it a few times today, but now it is stalled and acting like it is fouled up or something. It cranks over and the battery is fully charged, but it won't fire. I tried to spray some carb cleaner down it, but still nothing. Maybe my MSD box decided to go bad all of the sudden? Can I leave the power wires attached and just disconnect the wires that go to the HEI and reconnect the stock wires? I am despirate!!!

Does the Starter turn over? If it sounds like its turning real hard maybe its hydrolocked? I dunno, I would rule this out in normally but you replaced the fuel pump, so maybe it is filling the cylinders and hydrolocking? Try this... Take the plugs out and turn it over. This is the easiest way to see if the engine is turning free...

Pulling the plugs is really not an option in the parking lot where the car is. From what I hear from someone else with the same symptoms, I assume the plugs are fouled all ready. I think my MCS may be bad or something. I just really need a way to drive my car home 3 miles from the gym...
The starter is relativly new too. Battery is only a few days old. It cranks over, but never fires up. In fact, when I stop cranking, a puff of gas shoots out the top like the crank turns back a halk turn or so.

Is the starter spinning over at the same speed it used to? You really should do a plug check to see what is going on inside the cyls. Why not get an inline spark checker while you're at it too.. I got one that cost me like 6 or 7 bucks, the light will light up if you have fire on that plug wire. Even if you do have fire, its a great tool to have.
