Whattdya think?

What do you guys suspect this engine would have in Hp and torque?
a 350 with a .477 lift cam
port and polished heads
2.02/1.60 valves
edlebrock intake
600 cfm 4bbl carb
and headers

Also, tuned well, what kind of gas mileage would it get?

What cam? What heads (882s, 434s, 186s, Dart Pro 1 220s)? What Edelbrock intake (Performer, NASCAR Super Victor, etc.)?

A 600 carb will flow a little over 300 HP worth of air. Remember, HP = energy per time; energy is released by burning gas molecules; burning gas molecules requires air (or some other source of oxygen); so the bottom line is HP = CFM (air molecules per minute).

It will get something less than 24 miles to the gallon. Maybe not much less, maybe a whole lot less. That will depend on all of the above, plus the gears, the trans, and above all, driver habits.

k...I'll try to find that stuff out
He thinks it has 3.55 gears, and it has a turbo 400 tranny

Heh ive noticed that there is a direct corelation between my gas mileage and how heavy my foot is...good thing i dont wear boots got it bad enough as it is.

K...so it is a 4bolt main from a truck bored .010 over, it has the stock heads just ported and polished and has 2.02/1.60 valves, dunno about cam and intake yet...

Does having heads from a truck make any kind of a difference?

well for some reason, he doesn't know what cam he put in it...just that it has a .477 lift and may be a comp cam , and he doesn't know about the intake either
So I know there is very limited information here sorry about that, since I have only owned my V6, I don't know a whole lot about specifics on the 8, but what kind of general performance could this thing have, are there any comparisons you guys could make to engines you have/have seen.
