help! car won't start

Reading code 46 from my car...VATS/PS switch? The starter solenoid doesn't engage at all (no clicks or attempted starts). I'm at work right now and have access to no tools and I'm a good hour away from home. Is there a quick and dirty way to bypass VATS or the PS switch to start the car? Where's the PS switch, I checked near the PS pump but didn't see any wires? I can't check the "security" light...it turns out the bulb blew out on me this weekend.

BTW, the car has a T-56 in it so it could also be the neutral safety switch, though I doubt it because of the code thrown.

Thanks,

well, the vats starter diable relay is inside the drivers kick panel(left of drvers feet), if you jump the yellow and green wires(2 of one and one of the other), the car will crank with the key, but if the vats is acting up, it still wont start, it may just be the connections in the lock cylinder to the key, if so, you need to bypass at the bottom of the column with a resistor(search for more info)

well, i think if u slip a resisitor into the vats connecter under the dash you'll bypass it but im not certain. you'll have to interogate your key and find out what resisitor it uses, i think theres a choice of 25. once u find out the resistor value in the key i think can just pop on into the end of the connecter (theres a disconnect under the dash, orange wire) and it should start. you *may* be able to find out what resistor you have w/ your vin number and calling a dealer but i doubt it, when i had to get a new key they stuck my key in a tester to find out the value. worst comes to worst buy all 25 resistors and try each one at a time, be aware it takes about 5 minutes i think for the vats to reset itself if an attempt is made w/ the wrong key. it may be more involved then this but this is the way i think it works, i could be wrong.
