What cam would work best?

allright i'm looking for a new cam the give me power throughout the band, but i would like to have alot of low end grunt. What sort of cam would work best for me without having to mess with the valves and lifters to much. and by the way i'm running a stock torque converter and it's goin in a 350 out of a 80 Z-28

Like me, you probably have the 929 cam. My engine is a 350 out of a '79 Z28. If you wanna put in anything preformance oriented in place of the 929, you will probably have to replace at least the valve springs. The 929 is the smallest sbc cam that I know of, at .390/.410 or something lift for intake/exhaust.

i thought i might run into this problem so what one would be the i don't know either to say easiest to install with mininal valve work. srings really aern't that hard to replace. So here's the next techincal question whats the biggest cam you can fit in there with only changing the springs?
