Can I reuse Head bolts?

I have about 10,000 miles on my ARP pro serier and do not really want to buy another set. Will they still be ok all cleaned up?

I'd be leery of re-using them too; try giving ARP a call and see what they say. Did you pull the heads because something went wrong (that might've stressed the bolts a bit too much), or to do something fun like porting or a head swap?

I'd think you could tell if they stretched by trying to thread them in by hand into the motor... if they jam, don't use 'em... but that's just a guess!!

Yes, you can it they are not damaged. Head bolts in an SBC are not torqued to anywhere near the yield strength or elongation point of the fastener (unlike lug nuts). The iron will let go long before a stock bolt. If the ARP bolts are almost as good as stock, you should have no problems.

Just removing heads to port a little and add new valve springs. I'll give ARP a call anyway. Thanks Guys

Just keep in mind you are calling someone to ask them if you should send them more money. I'd say yes if you called me to ask if you should by more of my product. But maybe they are more ethical.

Just keeping things in perspective.
