Spark Plug Recomendations

1992 Camaro RS convertible
305 TBI
Hooker Super Comp 3" Cat Back Exhaust
Hypertech Thermomaster Chip
Hypertech Coil
170 Degree Thermostat

I am just wondering what everyone else (everyone at least with a similar car and setup as mine anyway!) was running for plugs. Especially interested in brand and part numbers (heat range) if available and/or good or bad experiences with the plugs in the car.

Thanks for the info!

Steve

All you'll ever need is A/C Delco, that's spec'ed for your engine/car.

I See Spark Plugs

Would that be RAPID FIRE or stock A/C DELCO sparkplugs?

While in theory I agree with your statement, I have read alot of posts from other members that would dispute your stance. I would like to know if there is any benefit to be gained from running platinum plugs or splitfire or the primo Jap plugs.

While we are on the subject how about changes to heat ranges? What is the skinny on that?

There are alot of products out there. We have a choice. i would like to be educated by others that have had experiences with the plug brands.

Thanks anyway.

You don't have to worry much about plugs until your cylinder pressure starts really going up (more power). But here is some info.

GREAT INformation!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am definitely impressed with THAT information. Very well laid out.... and pretty easy to understand. Thank you!

While i was not expecting any huge noticable gains in HP from plug brand to plug brand, I am interested in reliability, and ANY gain in HP, however slight, coupled with other modifications that result in some HP gain will eventually add up.

I am intrigued with the use of non resistor plugs. Do you think that any type of plug like that will result in no radio interference? Or is it pretty much a hit and miss thing? You have to be money and power ahead to have to not fire through a resistor.

I am going to have to go back and read that link a little closer. Good info to share.

Thanks again!
