Air/Fuel ratio guage??

Air/Fuel ratio guage??
Hey guys my freind is trading me his air/fuel ratio guage for my volt guage cause he has no need for the air/fuel guage. Now I have 2 questions. First, I have a carbed car, will the guage pretty much stay in one spot when its idleing or will it move all over the place liek on a fuel injected car and be of no help to me tuning. And number 2, would a stock tbi o2 sensor hook up to it and if so how woudl I hook it up?? thanks guys

I have a gage on my carbed car and it stays pretty steady at about 13:1 at idle (needs tuning yet). The gage is made by edelbrock and is designed to be used with a GM 3 wire sensor (heated). If you have headers it's probably a good idea to use the correct sensor with it or you may not get correct readings. Or you can try the one wire if you already have it and see what happens. Wiring is simple, +12 power, ground to engine and the three wires to the sensor.

awsome, well i work at pepboys so i was just gonna buy the o2 sensor i needed. would a tpi or tbi or any other stock kind be better that would go rigth into my header with the same threads??

I think all the GM cars in the late 80s used the same sensor so it doesn't matter which you use, just check on your computer at work. I would recommend using a three wire heated sensor just for assurance. If they're expensive at pepboys you can try ebay. make sure you wire the meter into switched power so the sensor/meter isn't drawing current with the car off.
