non fbody electrical question.

my friend has a 1986 wrangler with 305 engine. he is experiencing an electrical problem on his dashboard lights which eractically go on and off on its own. what could be the cause of this problem? please post.

Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
any one of 44 million different things. There is either a huge current draw beyond the capability of the battery, or there is a short somewhere in the power or ground wire going to the dash lights. This kind of crap can be tough to track down in factory wiring. If it's aftermarket or modified, start chasing grounds. Do the headlights dim as well? If so, that would indicate a huge current drop which can not only be tough to find, but can be quite dangerous.
