Ignition lock cylinder
About two weeks ago something was wrong with my lock cylinder. It would not turn at all. So I took the steering wheel and stuff off and started playing with it and all of a sudden it magically worked again. Do you guys have any idea what would cause that? I would like to know because who knows when it might act up again.

You lock cylinder is probably just worn out. I had to replace mine a couple of years ago after it locked in the on position, and i had to grind the starter to shut it off. First i sprayed wd-40 on it and it worked for a week or so then just quite.
You'll probably endup replacing it in a little while.

And just for reference, lock cylinders should be lubricated with dry graphite only, not liquid lubricants. That applies to both plate and pin tumbler types. Some of you in warmer climates might get by with a spray lube for a little while, but not in colder temperatures.
