Modine Radiators

I need to replace the radiator in my 88 IROC/with 5.7 TPI. I found the following choices for my replacement:
1) $400+ replacement from the local Chevy dealer
2) $295 AC Delco replacement from napaonline.com
3) $229 AC Delco replacement from a local NAPA store
4) $144 Modine replacement from napaonline.com

Does anyone have any experience with the Modine "replacement" radiator. Is it any good?

I am trying to understand the price difference. It doesn't make sense.

nooo!!! never, ever, ever go to dealerships! i cringe everytime my girlfriend does(newer explorer) because i know they shaft her(really her dad) everytime and smile about it. but he is too dumb to accept the fact that small garage's do the same quality work and for 1/4 the amount of money. in any case, ive never herad of modine, but take a look in summit racing(www.summitracing.com) they have a wide variety of everything and pretty good prices too. whatever you do, even if you have to live without a radiator, dont go to the dealerships!

Modine has been around for years, its one of the better aftermarket companies out there. They make alot of OE stuff too, I know they have sold stuff to GM. I'd get that one.

The Modine is even cheaper at www.partsamerica.com. Pluse you pick it up a local Advanced auto parts store. I put it in and I run just above 100* while driving.

I got my Modine from a local radiator shop (A1 Radiator in Salisbury, MA) for $102. My old radiator blew a bottom row. Harrison, Modine, and any plastic tank / aluminum core radiator for that matter is considered disposable. They're very cheap, yet my stocker lasted for 140K miles. I would reccomend a Modine as a good stock replacement.

I agree with the others, Modine is one of those old-line dependable type of product lines. I have used many, many of them in my career and would not hesitate to use another.

Guys (and new87 specifically),

Thanks for the input. I just bought the Modine at partsamerica.com for $101.00 - you saved me $43 plus shipping. I am to pick it up tomorrow at an Advance Auto Parts Store that is 3 miles from my house... Wow.

Saved me money and time. I like this site. I hope to return the favor many times over as I learn more about my Third Gen.

Thanks again.
