should i be useing higher octain?

i was just wondering if me useing regular gas is bad, and should i switch to 94 octain? does it make that big of a diffrence?

uhh....without anymore info about the engine, namely compression ratio, no one can answer that question. does the car ping or knock on regular gas right now? if it does, try some higer octane gas and see if it goes away. if not, adjust the timing so that it doesnt ping.

ideally, you want to set the timing on engine so that it performs the best, ie most power output (you can test this at the drag strip) and then run the LOWEST octane you can without it pinging. this will give you the most performance engine. octane does nothing for power if you dont need the extra octane to prevent detonation.

running higher octane when you dont need it will slow you down.
