Will these valve springs suffice?

K motion K-700
1.265" diameter
115# @1.7"
350# @1.15"
bind is at 1.050

They're $43 bucks. The Cranes I WAS gonna buy, with as far as I can tell identical specs, are $110. WTF am I missing?
In case ya'll forgot it's a 234/244, .510/.544 cam.

Too small for the cam choice. The K-700 springs are a stock replacement spring designed for lift up to .500". If the spring pockets are not enlarged for larger double springs then you need K-750 springs. If the spring pockets allow for the larger 1.460" springs then go with the K-800. Both the K-750 and K-800 allow up to .600" lift

What crane springs were you considering?

Ok..the K-750's bind at only .020 more, and have only 30# better seat pressure, and cost $130. WTF am I missing?

Since I don't have a K-motion catalog I can only assume it's the thickness of the spring material and the spring rate.

When the valve is fully open there should be a minimum of .060" between the coils. You could probably use the cheaper springs but would have less than the recommended .060" between the coils. As long as you're not spinning the engine to 6000 rpm they should last for a while. Don't forget the rockers also. Lifts higher than .500" require a rocker with more travel. Stamped steel rockers are available with a longer slot or just install roller rockers.

It's always best to use the cam's recommended springs. The cam makers know what springs are required for each cam. You can actually make more power by using a stronger spring but also risk wearing out a cam earlier.
