oil pan gasket?

i noticed yesterday that i was looseing oil so i went under and took a look, its seems i have a leak comeing from the oil pan gasket right were the fuel pump is. i was wondering is this a hard thing to change??? could i do it my self? or should i get a shop?
also with a gasket leak could it cause any problem other then haveing to top up your oil??? i am a bit worryed since my oil pressue gauge dont work. thanks

if it is in fact the oil pan gasket, they arnt that hard to replace, but you have to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up to get the pan off.

Look on the front of the block, between the fuel pump and the harmonic balancer. If you don't have the smog pump, you should see 2 bolt holes. If you look into the upper of the 2, you'll see the fuel pump push rod... in other words, you're looking right straight into the crankcase. And that hole will spew oil like the Exxon Valdez at high RPMs.

If you don't have a bolt in that hole, put a SHORT one in there with some silicone on the threads. Your pan gasket might not be leaking any more after that.

k well i took another good look today at it and there is two holes one is bolted and the other is not should both be bolted? also it seem that it is leaking from the fuel pump gasket could oil leak out if the gasket is gone on the fuel pump??? is that round thing the fuel pump?? i no it deal with the fuel but i though fuel pumps r in the tanks?

along with what rb said since you have a mechanical pump they are known to leak oil too so be sure of the source of your leak before you jump in a fix something that isn't broke and still have the original problem after the repair.

k well i double checked today when i got my oil changed and it is leaking from the pump i am 100% sure of it. it looks easy to replace the gasket on that, is there any pointers i should no on replaceing it? anything i need to no?? just wanna make sure i do it right.
oh.....is it going to dump out fuel or oil when i take it off??
