Black Smutt coming out of tail pipes???

Black Smutt coming out of tail pipes???
When I crank my car after it sits for a while black smutt shoots from my tail pipes.....what is this and what causes it?

Sure it's not just gas from flooding it a little on start? Maybe you're running rich and it's building up crap in the mufflers/pipes and starting it blows some of it out...

Black smoke means your rich. Now is this just some well sooty stuff or are you talking black cloud that lingers in the air typa thing? Sooty stuff is rich.
