hot start problem

I have an '86 IROC with a 350 and TPI that was rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. The cat, plug wires, plugs, distributor, coil, ignition module, injectors, EGR valve, EGR solenoid, EGR temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, TPS, IAC, MAF, ECM, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, MAF relays and just about anything else I could think of were replaced at the same time. Sometimes when it's hot, it cranks, but won't start. The starter cranks fast and strongly, so it can't be starter related. A spark tester indicates it has spark and a fuel pressure gauge reads 44 psi., so it has fuel. I put a noid light on a couple of the injectors and it flashed, but very dimly. When the engine is cold, the noid light flash brightly. Are the injectors driven directly from the ECM or is there something else to check? Anyone have any ideas?

My car does that everytime it's warm or hot out and I've been driving it for a while. If I stop and let it sit for a few minutes and then go to start it, it will crank for a while and finally catch. When this happens, I get a puff of smoke out the back. Start perfectly when cold. I think it's my injectors.

You say yours are new though. hmm

Can anyone offer up any advice? I found that if I put the pedal to the floor when starting warm, the computer shuts off the injectors (clear flood mode I think) and the car starts quicker. My problem I believe is related to a flooding condition. Yours may be something else...

Do you have an aftermarket chip in the ECM?

nope, I don't. I'm now leaning toward timing as I don't have a timing tab on my front cover, the shop did it by ear. Car runs perfectly, idles ULTRA smooth and has good power.
